(1)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The texts in language textbooks for all languages can be read using similar methods. Language textbooks are designed so that <strong>later chapters build on vocabulary and grammar from previous ones.<\/strong> Therefore, it is important to study the chapters in order. If a student has been absent, they should study the missed material independently. They can ask the teacher for help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The text<\/strong> is intended to be <strong>read aloud<\/strong>. The text can also be <strong>a dialogue<\/strong> between people. Often, dialogues <strong>relate to situations<\/strong>. Reading aloud provides <strong>a model for pronunciation<\/strong> and helps with <strong>remembering<\/strong> words, expressions, and structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A picture related to the text helps in understanding the situation. Texts and dialogues are models for writing and speaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When studying texts, you learn:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>general vocabulary (<em>live<\/em>, <em>definitely<\/em>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>situation- or topic-specific vocabulary (<em>playground<\/em>, <em>pond<\/em>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>idioms or sayings (<em>have fun<\/em>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>grammar (<em>I haven\u2019t<\/em>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>structures (<em>there are kids playing<\/em>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to understand the main idea of the text without needing to know the meaning of every word<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;to identify different text types (e.g. a description of one&#8217;s neighborhood)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There are<strong> exercises <\/strong>that relate to the texts. The exercises cover the studied vocabulary, structures, and grammar. In writing and speaking tasks, the book\u2019s texts can always be used as models.
