How to study history at home?

  1. Read the title and subtitles of the text. Study the images and graphs. Use them to recall what was discussed in class about the topic.
  2. Find the most important new concepts and make sure you can explain them in your own words. Find the examples of the concepts.
  3. Think about the main idea or big picture that the concepts form. How are they related to each other? What is the broadest topic, and what are its parts?
  4. Read the entire text. Draw a diagram, chart or table.
  5. Mark the words and things you don’t understand. Ask your teacher about them in the next lesson.
