- Read the title and subtitles of the text. Study the images and graphs. Use them to recall what was discussed in class about the topic.
- Find the most important new concepts and make sure you can explain them in your own words. Find the examples of the concepts.
- Think about the main idea or big picture that the concepts form. How are they related to each other? What is the broadest topic, and what are its parts?
- Read the entire text. Draw a diagram, chart or table.
- Mark the words and things you don’t understand. Ask your teacher about them in the next lesson.
