How to revise for a history exam?

  1. After each lesson, read the chapter and do the homework.
  2. Start revising for the test well in advance. Divide the material into daily portions. Review one part at a time.
  3. What smaller sections make up the exam material?
  4. What are the key concepts in each section? How are they related?
  5. Focus on the main points and make sure you understand them. Take notes: underline, number and use colours. Use mind maps, drawings, diagrams, maps and tables. Examples, images and subtitles help you remember the main ideas.
  6. Explain the topic aloud to your family or to your teddy. Record your explanation.
  7. Revise how to write a good test answer. Practice with your notes.
